IMPACT CHICAGO Online Registration
It’s time. It’s time to do something. It’s time to GO. It’s time to shake the foundations of a city. It’s time to IMPACT CHICAGO!
Here’s what you should be working on right now:
1. Talk to you parents and get their permission to go.
2. If they’re cool with that, REGISTER HERE.
3. AFTER YOU REGISTER, you can start working on your fundraising. Talk to your parent about who you can send a support letter to (make sure to edit the letter!) and then start to look at other ways you can raise money (Facebook groups, email lists, etc.)
4. PRINT, SIGN and RETURN this Agreement/Release Form
5. Then make sure you get all the important dates for the activities related to the trip in your calendar. By agreeing to be a part of this trip you are committing to being involved in all of these dates that you can possibly make work, so try to make them work wherever you can. (That means if you have a job, you might have to request a few days off)
6. Pray, pray, pray – that you could raise your funds; that the trip goes well; that God would work through you and complete His will through IMPACT CHICAGO. And pray for the city, the people and the ministries that we’ll come in contact with while we’re there.
All forms and registrations need to be submitted to Pastor Barry by Sunday, May 22 AT THE LATEST.

IMPACT CHICAGO is planned for July 22-31, 2011 and we are going to ROCK the city of Chicago for God! Start making your plans now and praying that God would open up doors for fundraising and all the plans that need to fall into place.

Ok, you tell me: am I just giving it away, now? Seriously, I feel like I’m almost just telling you the answer with this clue! I mean, now you all know right?…..RIGHT?
So far we’ve had guesses of Fargo, Yankton, Harlem, Chicago and Montana. So who has any other guesses? Get them in today, cuz there’s only one more clue left……btw, can you tell I’m a little excited about this trip? It’s going to be the BIGGEST and the BEST trip Impact has ever taken and YOU can go!
You must a little excited too – our site got over 80 hits yesterday and you guys have visited the site almost 300 times in the last 4 days! Seems like maybe you’re a little puzzled?……well at least I gave it all away with today’s clue!

So the guesses are coming in slowly, but several of you have yet to participate. I think we need an added incentive. How about this? Whoever guesses the place first, I will personally buy them one of our 3rd clues when we take our trip. Of course, that means that you have to come, but I’m pretty sure you’re going to want to…..BECAUSE THIS IS GOING TO BE THE GREATEST TRIP IMPACT HAS EVER TAKEN!!!!! Seriously, though, it is. The Missions Trip Guessing Game Day Two
Ok, there were a couple of guesses yesterday, but I can’t tell you if anyone has gotten it right yet. I will admit, yesterday’s clue was a tough one, but maybe today is one you’ll recognize a little better. Remember, one guess a day and the winner wins. Isn’t that how it normally works? The winner usually wins, right? Well, either way, that’s how it’s going to work in our little game here.

The Missions Trip Guessing Game Day One
A lot of you are curious about where this mysterious trip is going to take you. Well, I have the cure for your disease…..(of curiosity)…..ok, that was weird, but still, you should do it.
I’m going to post a picture each day this week that will be your hint and you can guess the place by leaving a comment once each day (only your first guess of the day will count). On Sunday night we’ll announce the winner (the first to guess the place) and they’ll get some AMAZING prize. (Ok, it might not be that amazing, but it will be a prize. Of some sort. Like, meaning that somebody would think of it as a prize.)

POOL PARTY!!!
This Sunday night we’re having a pool party for Pastor Barry’s birthday (ok, mostly for Peyton, but a little for Barry, too) and we want you to come!!! Don’t worry about bringing a present or anything like that, but come ready to have a great time! We’ll be at the Comfort Inn and you can come anytime after 6:00! You can hang out until 8:30 or 9:00! We’ll probably have some food leftover (maybe even some cake) from thefamily party, but I’d plan to eat a little something before you come, just in case our family totally pigs out and eats all the food!
One other thing: we want to maintain modesty as Christians so we’re asking girls to wear a tank top with their swimsuit. We’re going to have a great time and hope to see you there!

Come @ 6:30 to watch the outtakes from the Winterfest video (fun for the whole family!) and we’ll start worship @ 7:00! It’s going to be an amazing night we hope to see you there!
IMPORTANT INFO COMING UP!
First of all, if you have not filled out the online registration form for Winterfest, do it HERE!
Secondly, we’re going sledding again on Sunday night @ Jaycee Park @ 6:00 pm. Last time was so much fun that we thought we should do it again while the weather allows it. We’ll sled (or bring snowboards if you want) for awhile and then we’ll head to Perkins to grab some hot chocolate afterwards. Parents can pick up their kids around 8:30 @ Perkins!

WINTERFEST 2011 REGISTRATION!!!
Winterfest is coming up February 18-20 in Rapid City, SD. This year features the band Chasen, nationwide speaker Lee Claypoole and the always favorite, Two Empty Chairs. Cost for event registration and hotel is only $110! This trip is going to be awesome!!!
All you need to do to register and pay before January 18! Our PayPal link is not working right, so please pay with a check made to Gateway Community Fellowship. Contact Pastor Barry to make arrangements to drop it off @ the church office or his house.

WE’RE GOING SLEDDING!!!
Impact is going sledding this Sunday night @ 6:00 pm @ Jaycee Park on Century and then we’ll go to Perkins afterwards to get some hot chocolate! Show off your moves and see who can build the most speed! It’s going to be a lot of fun and I hope you’ll be there!
Be sure to bundle up and bring a sled if you’ve got one. Bring a few bucks for hot chocolate afterwards. Parents can pick up their kids @ Perkins (north) at 8:30. Be there and bring a friend!
CHRISTMAS PARTY THIS SUNDAY! (12/19)
Sunday, December 19 @ 6:00 pm @ Barry & Jess’ (1602 N 14 St)
Come and hang out for a night of movies and Christmas treats! We’ll be hanging out in Barry & Jess’ newly remodeled basement, so be one of the first to come check it out! All you need to bring is a Christmas treat, homemade or store-bought to share! Parents can pick up their kids @ 8:30! Come and have a great time!

FIELD TRIP TO NARNIA THIS SUNDAY NIGHT!!!!
THIS SUNDAY NIGHT Impact is going to see the new Narnia movie in 3D at the Grand!
We’ll meet @ the Grand Theatres @ 6:45 pm to get seats—DON’T BE LATE! Cost for tickets is $10.75 for 3D movies. The movie starts @ 7:10 and runs 2 hours, so parents can pick up kids around 9:15.

The new Narnia movie is coming out Friday, December 10 and we’re going to take a group to OPENING NIGHT! Showtimes haven’t been released, yet, but here’s the trailer to wet your appetite!

{WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW}
You should stop eating for the Famine on Saturday after breakfast (10:00 am at the latest)
We’ll meet for the Scavenger Hunt @ Barry & Jess’ house (1602 N 14 St) @ 5:00 pm
After the Scavenger Hunt we’ll be doing the Cardboard Village on the corner of Divide & 13th St. (The winning team from this challenge might receive a tasty reward later in the night)
We’ll settle down for the night @ the Impact Center and we’ll be watching movies and hanging out while we do some other projects for local charities
We’ll be going to church @ Gateway on Sunday morning as a group @ 10:00 am @ the Doublewood Inn. If you do not regularly attend Gateway, please get your parents permission to go with us. We will have a special video presentation of everything we did with the Famine
After church we’ll head to Impact for the Pizza Party to wrap things up! We’ll be finished and ready for kids to be picked up around 1:00 pm

FAMINE DETAILS COMING TOGETHER!
So the details are coming together and the 30 Hour Famine is going to be AWESOME!
First of all, the date will be October 30-31.

There’s two things you should be doing RIGHT NOW in preparation for the Famine:
1. Talk to people about sponsoring you for $1 or more an hour during your Famine! I’m challenging every one of you to have AT LEAST five $1/hour sponsors.
2. Start collecting collecting large cardboard boxes for our Cardboard Village!

30 HOUR FAMINE
This semester @ Impact is all about making a difference around us and this is where we’re going to start! We rolled out the Famine last night @ Impact and I’m pumped to get going on it! Check out more information here.
I am challenging every one of you to find at least 5 sponsors to sponsor you for just $1 an hour ($30). That is enough to feed one starving child for a month. You can do more, though. Find twelve $30 sponsors and you could be responsible for feeding a child for an entire year! Or you could get even more!
We are going to make a difference.

ARE YOU READY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE?
We had a great kickoff to the fall and to our new series, Made to Make A Difference last Sunday night! Be there THIS Sunday night and we’ll build off of some of our ideas from last week!
ICE CREAM SUNDAE PARTY!!!
THIS Sunday, July 25 will be our last regular Impact of the summer and we’re having an ICE CREAM SUNDAE PARTY!!! We’ll meet @ Impact @ 7:00 pm and we’ll pig out on ice cream and play games until 8:30! There are some new things around the Student Center, so come and check it all out…and bring a friend to make it an even better night!
A WEEKEND IN THE SUN!
Hey guys, it’s been amazingly nice outside lately and we want to enjoy it while we still can!
That’s why Impact is going to enjoy a weekend in the sun!
First of all, join us on Friday (July 16) afternoon from 1:00-5:00 pm for a day @ Raging Rivers! Last time we went it was a little chilly, but it’s going to be sunny and in the 90′s on Friday – a great day to be in the water! Cost is $13 – call Barry @ 471-7582 if you need a ride.
Then on Sunday, Gateway will be having our Family Sunday @ the Park and we’re going BIG with this one! We’re renting a GIANT 18′ inflatable slide and we’ll have an obstacle course that you can set your best time on – it’s going to be a blast! It all starts @ 10:00 am on Sunday morning @ Optimist Park! A great time, PLUS we’ll feed you!
No regularly scheduled Impact Sunday night, so that we can play ourselves out on Sunday afternoon!

NO IMPACT ON THE 4TH OF JULY
We WILL NOT have Impact on the 4th of July, but I hope you and your family will join Gateway and several other churches around town for:
The Gathering is a community-wide worship service on Sunday, July 4th @ 9:00 am @ the soccer fields right next to the Mandan Rodeo Grounds. Basically right behind Bill Barth Ford. This is going to be a great service and an awesome opportunity for the Body of Christ to worship Jesus Christ together in unity! Talk to your family about going!
Impact will be back Sunday, July 11th when we’ll be chasing gnomes around town….seriously….those little guys are crazy! Stay tuned for more details next week!
